Addressed to: ALCOHOL FREE ZONES WITHIN THE KEMPSEY CBD, SOUTH KEMPSEY AND WEST KEMPSEY Kempsey Shire Council supports a comprehensive approach in tackling alcohol-related crime and anti-social behaviour. One of the many strategies used to address these issues is the introduction of Alcohol Free Zones (AFZ). Alcohol Free Zones aim to reduce alcohol-related crime and anti-social behaviour in identified locations to assist in creating a safer environment for our residents, businesses and visitors. Commencing on Tuesday, 1st July 2008, 24 hour, 7 days per week Alcohol Free Zones will become effective within the Kempsey Central Business District, and selected streets within South Kempsey and West Kempsey residential areas for a period of three (3) years. Locations are as follows: Kempsey CBD Smith Street from Belgrave Street to Woolworths car park. South Kempsey Middleton Street from Railway line to Horatio Braham Place, West Kempsey Leith Street between Sea and Cochrane Street Where an Alcohol Free Zone exists, it is an offence to drink and / or carry open containers of alcohol on any street or footpath, 24 hours a day, seven days a week for a period of up to three years. Alcohol Free Zones only apply to streets and footpaths where indicated by signage. Any existing or future footpath area licensed by the Shire for the purpose of food or alcohol consumption as part of a café or restaurant will be exempt from these restrictions. The NSW Police are responsible for enforcing Alcohol Free Zones and any breaches should be reported to the Kempsey Police Station on telephone: 02 6563 7199. TENDER T2008 – 005 Tenders are invited for the provision of water meter reading services for Kempsey Shire from July 2008 until July 2009. Further information is available from Sharon McLanders of Macleay Water on 65 663200. Details are also be made available on the Council’s website (www.kempsey.nsw.gov.au). Tenders will be received up until 10am on Tuesday, 1 July 2008, and are to be sealed in an envelope clearly marked “Tender T2008–005 – Meter Reading Services”. Tenders are to be submitted to the General Manager, Kempsey Shire Council, PO Box 3078, West Kempsey, NSW 2004 or can be placed in the Tender Box during business at Council’s Customer First Centre at 22 Tozer Street, West Kempsey. QUOTATIONS FOR “HIRE OF PLANT” – QUOTATION NUMBER Q2008-003 Quotations in sealed envelopes clearly endorsed “Quotation Number Q2008-003 – Hire of Plant” are invited and will be received up until 10am on Tuesday, 8 July 2008, for hire of plant (with or without operators) for use on Councils work sites for the period 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009. Quotations are to be either submitted to the General Manager, Kempsey Shire Council, PO Box 3078, West Kempsey NSW 2440, delivered to the Customer First Centre, 22 Tozer Street, West Kempsey, faxed to 02 6566 3205 or emailed to ksc@kempsey.nsw.gov.au. Compliant quotation submissions will then be registered on Councils preferred contractors/suppliers list of hired plant. Contractors/suppliers of hired plant must be registered, to be eligible to perform Council works. PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF DEVELOPMENT CONSENTS - ISSUED BY COUNCIL Consent has been granted for the following applications.
A record of consents may be inspected, without charge, at the Customer First Centre of the Kempsey Shire Council, Civic Centre, Tozer Street, West Kempsey, between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm from Monday to Friday (public holidays excepted). Works Committee Meeting – Monday 23rd June 2008 Council is to conduct its next Works Committee meeting on Monday, 23rd June 2008. The purpose of the meeting is for Council to conduct site inspections of matters to be considered by Council.
