ROAD CLOSURES SOUTH WEST ROCKS Residents are advised that the southbound lane of South West Rocks Road, from Jerseyville Bridge to the Hat Head turnoff will be closed to all traffic between the hours of 7.30am and 10.30am on Sunday, 8 June 2008. A sixty km speed restriction will be imposed for northbound traffic in the same area. Traffic controllers will be in place at the Jerseyville Bridge to divert traffic. TENDER FOR THE SUPPLY OF MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR THE OPERATION OF HORSESHOE BAY CARAVAN PARK, SOUTH WEST ROCKS - TENDER NUMBER 2008-04 Tenders are invited for the broad based management of the Horseshoe Bay Caravan Park at South West Rocks. The village of South West Rocks has high tourist recognition and desirability as a coastal holiday destination. The Caravan Park is sited on a prime coastal headland and is bordered by water on three sides. The park enjoys a high occupancy rate and Council is committed to undertaking extensive improvements to the park and upgrading of the onsite cabin accommodation. The term of the proposed contract is for the period 1 February 2009 to 30 June 2011. Tenders will be received up until 10:00am on Tuesday, 17 June 2008, and are to be sealed in an envelope that is clearly marked “Tender – Horseshoe Bay Caravan Park. PAYMENT OF RATES – REMINDER Ratepayers are reminded that the fourth rate instalment is due for payment on or before 31 May 2008. Failure to finalise the payment by the due date will result in interest charges. Ratepayers who have been granted a “Pensioners Rebate” have until 31 May, 2008 to finalise their account in full, however arrears on a Pensioners account must be finalised immediately and is the subject of daily interest charges. Should you be experiencing difficulties in paying your rates, please contact Council to make a suitable arrangement for settlement of the account. A record of consents may be inspected, without charge, at the Customer First Centre of the Kempsey Shire Council, Civic Centre, Tozer Street, West Kempsey, between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm from Monday to Friday (public holidays excepted). NOTICE OF PROPOSED DEVELOPMENTS The following applications have been received and are notified in accordance with Council’s Policy.
The applications and plans relating to the developments to which this notice refers may be inspected at council’s Customer First Centre, Tozer Street, West Kempsey, any time between 8.30am and 4.30pm from Monday to Friday (public holidays excepted) for the period stated above. 1 who has received written notice of a proposed development from Council; or If the application will need to be considered by Council, a precis of submissions received will be included in a report to Council for determination of the application. Copies of submissions may be included in the Appendices to the Business Paper unless specifically requested by the writer not to be included and the submission is clearly headed “confidential”. DRUMMUSTER - SAFE DISPOSAL OF CHEMICAL CONTAINERS Council participates regularly in DrumMUSTER which is a program designed specifically to help people dispose of chemical drums and containers safely. Over 7,000 containers have been collected on the Mid North Coast since the first DrumMUSTER collections in 2001. DrumMUSTER is on during May 2008 at the Crescent Head Road Landfill site. Every Friday in May (2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 May) between 8.30am and 3.30pm you can drop your empty chemical containers in to this site. All containers need to be rinsed and clean prior to acceptance at site. People with large loads of containers, say up to 50 X 25 litre, will need to phone ahead on 6562 2042 and book prior to arrival at the Crescent Head Road Landfill site so that the load can be managed effectively. If you have larger loads than this you will need to ring the DrumMUSTER line on 1800 008 182 to arrange direct pickups. DEVELOPMENT APPLICATION ONLINE TRACKING AND PUBLIC REGISTER Kempsey Shire Council has implemented a Development Application Online Tracking system and a Public Register of Development Applications which allows easier access and tracking of lodged development applications and assists customers in gathering information through electronic media. Development Application Online Tracking Once a Development Application is lodged with Council, registered applicants will be provided with a secure password to log on to councils website to track the progress of their application. You will be able to see the current status of your application, the estimated timeframes for completion and who your assessment officer is. You will also receive email notifications at certain stages of the application progress. For example when the administration process of the application has been completed and has been allocated to an assessment officer, when a site inspection has taken place and when the determination of your application has been made. When you log on using your password you will be able to download a pdf version of certain documents related to your application. For example if your application has been referred to other Government departments such as the Rural Fire Service, a copy of general correspondence in regards to your application and also a copy of your Development Determination. You can register for this service when you lodge your application or by completing a separate Development Application Online Tracking Registration Form and submitting it to Council's Customer First Centre.
