AUSTRALIA DAY AWARDS 2009 – Call for nominations extended

The Australia Day Committee is aware that there are many people who make valuable contributions to our community that are deserving of being nominated for the Shire’s Australia Day awards. This, however, has not been reflected in the number of nominations received for the 2009 awards. Therefore the committee has decided to extend the call for nomination until 12 noon on 9 January 2009 in the five categories: Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Sport, Community Service, and Community Entertainment, Music and Arts.

Nominations forms are available by phoning 65 663200; by calling in at Council’s Customer First Centre in Tozer Street; or by visiting Council’s website (www.kempsey.nsw.gov.au).

Several celebrations are being planned around the shire for Australia Day, details of which will be advertised in Council’s weekly notices in the next few weeks.
