Expression of Interest

Kempsey Shire Council invites artists and art based collaborative teams to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the creation of two public sculptures to be installed in the roundabouts on the southern (Slim Dusty) and northern (Dunghutti) Pacific Highway interchanges to Kempsey.

Since the completion of the Pacific Highway bypass in 2013, Council has been undertaking major road and streetscape development along the old highway corridor. The Gateway Sculptures are an important component of this process, and will create a distinct identity and sense of place for the Shire. They will be visible on approach for northbound and southbound traffic entering and exiting into Kempsey from the Pacific Highway.

Concepts are sought that reflect the history, landscape and community of the area while showcasing the Macleay River. Artists can apply to undertake one or both Gateway projects.

The EOI will close 5pm Friday 28 April, 2017. Notification of shortlisting will occur after 22 May and shortlisted artists will have approximately four (4) weeks to respond to the brief in Stage 2.

New bin selection kiosk

Council’s Customer Service Centre now has a feature wall of information about the new waste service with an online bin selection kiosk. Come in and use the kiosk to choose the waste service which best suits your household ahead of the April 28 cut off. Our staff will be on hand to assist and answer any questions you may have.

All households will automatically receive the Standard Service, but for those who would like to downsize their red bin and/or upsize their yellow bin, filling out the online bin selection form is the easiest way to make a change.
