What's on Your Say Macleay

Flying Fox Community Survey

One of Council’s most complex environmental management issues is the flying fox colony in East Kempsey. The legislative and environmental challenges around managing flying foxes is a topic that has been discussed at Council meetings often, not just in Kempsey but in Councils all around NSW.

Residents are being asked to give their feedback on experiences and impacts of the camp to help guide development of a Plan of Management for the flying fox camp at Rudder Park, next to the Macleay River.

The Plan will be developed by Council in conjunction with specialist ecological consultant group Ecosure.

Visit  to take Council’s Flying Fox Community Survey before 12 May.
