Baiting feral rabbits - Frederickton

Council advises that a controlled release of the RHD5 virus, using baited carrots will be carried out in late June and early July. The program will seek to eradicate feral rabbits from the Council reserve at 50 Cyrus Saul Circuit, Frederickton.

Val Melville Centre maintenance works

Council’s Val Melville Centre, located on Lachlan Street in South Kempsey and containing the Museum, Visitor Information Centre and Dunghutti-Ngaku Aboriginal Art Gallery, will be closed to the public on Wednesday 28 June for maintenance. Council apologises for any inconvenience.

Partial road closure - NAIDOC march

There will be a partial road closure on Monday 3 July due to the community marching to celebrate NAIDOC Week. The march will commence at the swimming pool in Belgrave Street at 10:30am and proceed to Clyde Street Mall. It will then go left on to Forth Street and conclude at Service Clubs Park at
11:00am. Council apologises for any inconvenience.

Author visit - Sue Rosen

Author Sue Rosen’s latest book, Scorched Earth, details Australia’s plan to prevent the invasion of the Japanese following the attack on Pearl Harbour.

You can find out more about this fascinating Australian war history book when Sue Rosen visits the Library for an author talk at 11am Wednesday 21 June. Copies of the book will be available to buy.

Storytime & FOLK book sale

This month both Storytime and the FOLK book sale will be held on Friday 30 June.

Mary will be reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle for Storytime. Children aged 3+ years are invited to join the morning’s activities at 10:30am.

This month the FOLK book sale will have a surplus of non-fiction books, a wide range of DVDs, magazines, audiobooks and toys at super low prices. All money raised goes toward supporting reading and literacy in our area.

Due to impact of wet weather, previously advised works were delayed. This week our crews will be working on:

• Gravel road resheeting: Willi Willi Road (Temagog Road to Toorumbee Road)
