Expression of Interest

Appointment of a Panel of Licensed Real Estate Agents

Kempsey Shire Council wishes to create a panel of licensed real estate agents to market and sell surplus Council owned real estate.

Periodically, Council resolves to dispose of land and/or buildings that it considers to be surplus to requirements. To assist Council in fulfilling these resolutions, the services of licensed real estate agents are now sought.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) are invited from licensed real estate agencies or individual licensed agents who wish to be considered for inclusion on a panel.

Australian Poetry Slam - Kempsey Heat

Local poets, storytellers, hip hop artists and stand-up comedians are being given an opportunity to showcase 2 minutes of their best material at the Kempsey round of Australian Poetry Slam at Kempsey Library on Friday 11 August.

Over 1000 writer/performers are expected to compete for the APS crown this year. Finals will take place in Sydney in October and the winner will take part in the ultimate writers’ festival tour across several countries in 2018 - a prize valued at over $10,000. Could it be you?

Weekly works schedule

Due to impact of wet weather, previously advised works were delayed. This week our crews will be working on:

Whalens Bridge at Austral Eden was completed last week and is
Council's first road bridge made of composite fibre material
  • Bridge construction/maintenance: Place rock protection for abutments, rebuild and seal approaches at Austral Eden Inner Road, Whalens Bridge; demolish existing Nagles Falls Road bridge
  • Drainage/kerb/footpath maintenance: Customer requests as required
  • Bitumen road resealing/maintenance: Pothole patching on Temagog Road, Spooners Avenue, Pipers Creek Road, Stuarts Point Road, Belmore River Right Bank Road and Elbow Street; heavy patching on Plummers Lane and Eden Street
  • Bitumen road construction/rehabilitation: Repair damaged pavement on River Street, West Kempsey; continue widening and rehabilitation of Stuarts Point Road (Lukes Lane to Hunters Road); asphalt surfacing of Stuart Street, Kempsey (weather permitting); install subsoil drains and prepare Lawson Street, South West Rocks for new kerb and gutter; prepare south side of Elizabeth Street, South West Rocks for kerb and gutter; prepare and pour new kerb and gutter on Jubilee Street, South West Rocks (weather permitting)
  • Gravel road resheeting: Willi Willi Road (Temagog Road to Toorumbee Road)
  • Gravel road maintenance grading: Willi Willi Road (with gravel re-sheeting), Old Station Road, Menarcobrinni Road, Maria River Road
  • Roadside slashing: West Kempsey area
  • Other works: Central Kempsey Sewage Treatment Plant access road and site earthworks; pour kerb on Gregory Street/Gordon Young Drive for pedestrian refuge as part of South West Rocks PAMP works; replace kerb inlets and continue forming and pouring paths on Gregory Street (at Landsborough Street) as part of South West Rocks PAMP works; continue linemarking and installation on Eden Street refuge as part of Kempsey PAMP works
