Documents on public exhibition

At the September Council meeting it was resolved to place the following documents on public exhibition for a period of 28 days:

  • Moratorium on Fees and Charges applied under s138 of the Roads Act and for temporary road closures
  • Draft Procedure on the payment of expenses and provision of facilities to the Mayor and Councillors

The documents are on exhibition from 25 September. Copies of documents and instructions for making a written submission are available at www.kempsey.nsw.gov.au/public-exhibition

Proposed regulation of traffic

Control of traffic movements will be required in the vicinity of the cinema development site bounded by Belgrave Street, Verge Street and Elringtons Lane, Kempsey.

This will occur during the construction phases of the cinema development, planned to be undertaken between 2 October 2018 to 30 June 2019.

Vehicle and pedestrian movements are proposed to be regulated in accordance with Council-approved Traffic Control Plans, involving temporary closure of the section of Belgrave Street adjacent to the Kempsey Bridge and temporary closures of part of the development site public carparking area.

Weekly works schedule

This week our crews will be working on:

Middleton Street roundabout works continue this week
  • Bridge construction/maintenance: Establish worksite at Harry’s Gully Bridge on Carrai Road
  • Flood mitigation maintenance: Clearing of Worthings Drain; continue spraying in Belmore River area; continue maintenance and refurbishment of Clancy’s Drain; clear debris from Clybucca floodgates
  • Bitumen road resealing/maintenance: Pothole patching on Maria River Road, Pipers Creek Road and in Kundabung area
  • Bitumen road construction/rehabilitation: Tree planting on Tozer Street (Elbow Street to Kemp Street)
  • Gravel road maintenance grading: Fifes Creek Road and Balls Road
  • Roadside slashing: Plummers Lane and South West Rocks Road
  • Other works:
    • Fill centre island with soil, construct splitter islands and install flagpoles at Middleton Street/Lachlan Street roundabout

A development application and accompanying documents may be inspected at Kempsey Shire Council, 22 Tozer Street, West Kempsey, any time between 8:30am and 4:30pm from Monday to Friday (except public holidays) during the exhibition period.

Any person may make a written submission to the consent authority in relation to a development application during the exhibition period. If a submission is made by way of objection, the grounds of objection must be specified in the submission. Please note that any submission received by Council may be made publicly available.

A person who makes a written submission to a development application is required to disclose all reportable political donations and gifts (if any) made by the person making the submission or any associate of that person within the period commencing two years before the submission is made and ending when the application is determined. A disclosure statement form and further details can be obtained from Council’s website www.kempsey.nsw.gov.au
