Public notice - Temporary closure of Back Creek footbridge, South West Rocks

Back Creek footbridge closed signage

Kempsey Shire Council advises that Back Creek footbridge at South West Rocks has been closed until further notice. While the community’s frustration is acknowleged, the closure is a matter of public safety. Immediate repair works are underway and detailed structural engineers assessments will be conducted over the coming week to determine the full extenet of repairs required.

At this stage the bridge will be closed until at least 18 January and possibly longer. Further information and answers to common questions is available from Council’s website at www.kempsey.nsw.gov.au/back-creek-faq

Weekly works schedule

In 2019 the weekly works schedule will be published on Council’s website by Tuesday, commencing 15 January. Council’s printed notices will focus on details about a priority project for the coming week.

If a submission is made by way of objection, the grounds of objection must be specified in the submission. Please note that any submission received by Council may be made publicly available.

A person who makes a written submission to a development application is required to disclose all reportable political donations and gifts (if any) made by the person making the submission or any associate of that person within the period commencing two years before the submission is made and ending when the application is determined.
