Planning Proposal - Kempsey Local Environmental Plan 2013 2013 - (Draft Amendment No. 1) - Amend a number of planning controls that apply to land in Crescent Head to enable a future residential subdivision

Council has received a Planning Proposal to amend the Kempsey Local Environmental Plan (KLEP) 2013 (Amendment No.1).

The Planning Proposal applies to three land parcels, being Lots 703 and 704 DP749885, Point Plomer Road and a portion of Lot 707 DP1032859, Crescent Head Road, Crescent Head. The Planning Proposal seeks the following amendments to KLEP 2013:

  • Rezone the identified land parcels from RU2 Rural Landscape, R5 Large Lot Residential and E3 Environmental Management to R1 General Residential;
  • Revise the Minimum Lot Size map for portions of the identified land from 40 hectares (currently RU2 Rural Landscape and E3 Environmental Management zones) to 500 square metres;
  • Revise the Minimum Lot Size map for portions of the identified land from 1 hectare (currently R5 Large Lot Residential zone) to 500 square metres;
  • Revise the Height of Buildings map with the addition of a maximum building height of 8.5 metres for the identified site;
  • Revise the Scenic Protection Land Map with the deletion of scenic protection mapping that applies to the identified land; and
  • Deletion of clause 4.2D which applies to portions of the identified site and restricts the average area and minimum lot size for resulting lots created by subdivision.

The Planning Proposal will be on exhibition from Tuesday 22 January, 2019 until Tuesday 19 February, 2019.

The Planning Proposal is available for viewing and downloading on Council’s website at www.kempsey.nsw.gov.au/public-exhibition

Hard copies of the Planning Proposal will also be available in the Customer Services Centre of Kempsey Shire Council located at 22 Tozer Street, West Kempsey between 8:30am and 4:30pm.

Any interested person may inspect the Planning Proposal at the above location during the exhibition period.

Submissions to the Planning Proposal should be addressed to the General Manager and may be made electronically to ksc@kempsey.nsw.gov.au or in hard copy to PO Box 3078 West Kempsey, 2440. All submissions should be received before 4:30pm on Tuesday 19 February 2019.

Please note that any submission received by Council may be made publicly available.

A person who makes a written submission to a planning application is required to disclose all reportable political donations and gifts (if any) made by the person making the submission or any associate of that person within the period commencing two years before the submission is made and ending when the application is determined. Bitumen road resealing/maintenance program

River Street edge repairs, West Kempsey

Critical road edge break repairs are continuing as part of the bitumen road resealing and maintenance program across the Shire’s 603km network.

Crews are prioritising works according to risk, traffic volume and safety with repairs completed in River and North streets in West Kempsey, and Armidale Road last week.

Work will begin this week on repairs to the edges of various Crescent Head streets, including Baker Drive, and Maria River Road.

The itemised list of other planned works for this week in bridge construction, flood mitigation, drainage, footpath, gravel road grading, slashing, open space works and other projects is available on Council’s website from Tuesdays.
