Proposed road closure

Proposed closing under section 388 Roads Act 1993

In pursuance of the provisions of the Roads Act 1993, notice is hereby given that Kempsey Shire Council proposes to close the council public road listed in Schedule l.

Schedule 1

  • That part of Heyson Street at Greenhill within the Waste Water Treatment Plant

Upon closure of the road, Council intends to retain the land for operational purposes .

All interested persons are hereby invited to make submissions concerning the proposal to the General Manager, Kempsey Shire Council, 22 Tozer Street, West Kempsey, within twenty eight days of the dote of this advertisement. Please note that under the provisions of the Government Information (Public Access} Act 2009, such submissions may be referred to third parties for consideration.

Once the submission period is completed, Kempsey Shire Council will consider all duly made submissions before deciding whether to continue with the road closure proposal.

Weekly works schedule

Kerb and gutter replacement program

Kerb and gutter works - Nicholson Street, South Kempsey.

Council is working to deliver its $322,000 kerb and gutter replacement program in 2018-19.

Under the program, prioritised projects include Harry Boyes Avenue, and Bloomfield, Carri, Goonbi, Macquarie, Nicholson and Yarravel streets in South Kempsey.

Crews have recently finished kerb and gutter works in Yarravel and Nicholson streets and will this week focus on completing footpath works in Polwood and Sea streets in West Kempsey under the Pedestrian Access Management Plan (PAMP).

This three-year program of safety and access improvements for pedestrians aims to fix the areas identified as high priority by the community.

The itemised list of other planned works for this week in bridge construction, flood mitigation, drainage, road resealing and maintenance, gravel road grading, slashing, open space works and other projects is available on Council’s website from Tuesdays.
