Draft Noise Management Plan and Fly Neighbourly Advice

Council has been undertaking a multistep project to review operations at the Kempsey Airport and develop a Noise Management Plan (NMP) and Fly Neighbourly Advice (FNA).

In August 2017, Council resolved to appoint a Community Reference Group, now referred to as the Kempsey Airport Reference Group (KARG). Specialist consultants, The Airport Group (TAG), were engaged in July 2018 to conduct a noise study and use that data to prepare the draft NMP and FNA documents.

Following Council’s December 2018 resolution to make amendments and facilitate a further review meeting between TAG and KARG, the draft documents are now open for community comment and feedback.

The documents will be on public exhibition for 12 weeks and a community workshop/information session is being planned for late March 2019

Visit http://yoursay.macleay.nsw.gov.au/fna_nmp  to review the draft documents and have your say. Submissions close Wednesday 1 May 2019

Gravel Road Maintenance Grading

Grading of Third Lane at Glenrock is due for completion this week

Council maintains a large network of unsealed gravel roads with approximately 800 kilometres of roads graded each year.

The grading maintenance schedule is prioritised according to several factors including safety, risk and traffic volume.

This week our crews will be completing maintenance grading along Willi Willi Road from Moparrabah to Temagog, and Third Lane at Glenrock. New grading work will begin in Smiths Creek Road, Kempsey, Yarrabandini Road and Flanagan Street, Fredericklon, and Dowlings Falls Road, Toorooka.

The itemised list of other planned works for this week in bridge construction, flood mitigation, drainage, kerb and footpath, road resealing and maintenance, slashing, open space works and other projects is available on Council’s website from Tuesdays.
