Blind auction @ Smithtown Hall

Smithtown Hall and auction items

Council will host a blind auction at Smithtown Hall this Saturday 13 April. Used items such as lounges, chairs, outdoor settings and whitegoods from Council owned holiday parks will be up for grabs to the highest bidder. Doors will open at 9am and close at 12 noon sharp. All sales are final and won items must be collected from Smithtown Hall by 4pm on Saturday 13 April. Accepted forms of payment will be cash and EFTPOS only.

Dash with a Splash 2019

Council is supporting the Kempsey Healing Together Committee’s 2019 Dash with a Splash event at Eden Street playing fields this Friday 12 April. This years theme is ‘Coming together to Connect, Share, Speak Out, and Celebrate’. The event kicks off at 10am and this year will include obstacles throughout the signature 2km colour run as well as new ambassador, Deadly Ninja.

NextWave Youth Film Festival & Kempsey Community Suicide Action Plan launch

Bring a chair and picnic blanket along to Kempsey Riverside Park for an outdoor screening of the NextWave Youth Short Film Project Winners and the launch of the Kempsey Community Suicide Action Plan. Proudly supported by North Coast Primary Health Network and Council, the free event will take place this Saturday 13 April from 5:30pm and also feature food stalls, a BBQ, live music, jumping castle, face painting, fire twirling, speakers and much more.

Footpath maintenance and replacement

Work continues on Monument Point walkway at
Horseshoe Bay, South West Rocks this week

Crews are making solid progress on the construction of the Monument Point walkway - a project funded by the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund and a Council contribution.

Stage 1 of the walkway construction is now complete, and work will begin this week on pouring the next stage of the footpath.

Kerb and gutter replacement work in Harry Boyes Avenue, South Kempsey is expected to be completed this week and kerb replacement work will begin in Belmore Street, Crescent Head.

The itemised list of other planned works for this week in bridge construction, flood mitigation, bitumen road construction, resealing and maintenance, roadside slashing, open space works and other projects is available on Council’s website from Tuesdays.

A development application and accompanying documents may be inspected at Kempsey Shire Council, 22 Tozer Street, West Kempsey, any time between 8:30am and 4:30pm from Monday to Friday (except public holidays) during the exhibition period.

Any person may make a written submission to the consent authority in relation to a development application during the exhibition period.
