Council notices
Week commencing 6 May 2019

Water meter reading

Contract readers will commence water meter reading in the Shire on Monday 13 May 2019. These three monthly water usage accounts will be issued in June and due for payment by 31 August 2018.

Dog owners are asked to ensure that contract officers can access your property’s water meter without interference from your dog. Overgrown or buried water meters can also cause problems and may result in incorrect readings being registered. Please make sure your water meter is accessible at all times.

Please contact Council Customer Services on 6566 3200 for more information.

National Road Safety Week

National Road Safety Week 2019 logo.

Monday 6 May to Sunday 12 May marks National Road Safety Week, an annual initiative trom the Safer Australian Roads and Highways (SARAH) Group, partnering road safety organisations and Government.

The week highlights the impact of road trauma, honours those we have lost and asks road users to take steps to help eliminate fatalities on our roads.

Every year, more than 1200 people are killed and another 35,000 seriously injured on Australian roads. Traffic injury is the biggest killer of Australian children under 15 and the second-biggest killer of all Australians aged between 15 and 24. These numbers are growing every year but are fully preventable.

Visit www.roadsafetyweek.net.au  to find out what you can do to reduce road trauma and take the national Pledge to Drive So Others Survive today.
