NAIDOC Week 2019
You're invited to the launch of NAIDOC Week 2019 in Kempsey to celebrate this year’s theme - Voice. Treaty. Truth.
NAIDOC Week events are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. NAIDOC Week is a great opportunity to participate ina range of activities and support our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
- What: Grandfather Sun Ceremony, March down Belgrave Street, Flag Raising Ceremony
- When: 10am-1pm Monday, 8 July 2019
- Where: Meet at Kempsey Pool on Belgrave Street at 10am to take part in a Grandfather Sun ceremony. The march will then commence at 10:30am and finish at Services Club Park for the official Flag Raising Ceremony.

Weekly works schedule

Piling work continues this week on the $4 million project to replace Turners Flat Bridge.
Crews will also commence the installation of rock anchors and form piers to set the groundwork for the 144-metre long concrete brdige.
In other bridge construction and maintenance work, the repairs to the Jerseyville pontoon have been completed.
The itemised list of other planned works for this week in flood mitigation, drainage, kerb and footpath maintenance, road resealing, gravel road grading, open space works and other projects is available on Council’s website from Mondays.

Determinations of development applications are available for public inspection, free of charge, during ordinary office hours at the consent authority’s principal office, at Council’s Customer Service Centre, Civic Centre, 22 Tozer Street, West Kempsey, between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm from Monday to Friday (public holidays excepted).

A development application and accompanying documents may be inspected at Kempsey Shire Council, 22 Tozer Street, West Kempsey, any time between 8:30am and 4:30pm from Monday to Friday (except public holidays) during the exhibition period.
Any person may make a written submission to the consent authority in relation to a development application during the exhibition period. If a submission is made by way of objection, the grounds of objection must be specified in the submission. Please note that any submission received by Council may be made publicly available.
A person who makes a written submission to a development application is required to disclose all reportable political donations and gifts (if any) made by the person making the submission or any associate of that person within the period commencing two years before the submission is made and ending when the application is determined.
