Koala in gum tree

Help Council by reporting koala sightings

With the koala breeding season from now through to February, residents are encouraged to report any sightings of koalas to Council to help define their distribution, population and trends in the Macleay Valley.

Council is interested in keeping records of koalas, particularly the location of where they have been sighted in the Shire, to raise awareness of their habitats and for future conservation planning.

Council would like to know of the condition of the koala - whether they are healthy, sick, injured or deceased.

To report koala sightings, fill out Council’s online koala sightings form at www.kempsey.nsw.gov.au/koalas
