Works to start on upgrading Back Creek foreshore carpark area.

New footpaths to improve safety and connectivity will form part of preliminary upgrade works to the Back Creek foreshore carpark area of South West Rocks.

Kempsey Shire Council will start work from Monday 26 October to install new footpaths, concrete edge kerbs and bollards around the carpark area.

Council will stage the work across a number of weeks to ensure access to the footbridge is maintained and to avoid impacting residents and holiday-makers as much as possible.

Once completed, Council will focus on work to construct new picnic tables and shelters, outdoor barbecues,an outdoor shower and new bins.

Shire libraries back to normal

The library branches at Kempsey, South West Rocks and Stuarts Point have returned to normal operating hours.

  • Kempsey open until 5:30pm
  • South West Rocks open until 5:00pm
  • Stuarts Point open until 5:00pm
  • All open on Saturdays 9:00am-12 noon

Weekly works update

Works continue – Back Creek boat ramp carpark

Council’s Works teams are continuing their work to improve our physical environment while taking all precautions to implement coronavirus workplace safety.

Line marking at the recently upgraded Back Creek boat ramp carpark was completed last week.
