Mayoral Community Fund

Kempsey Shire Council welcomed applications to its Mayoral Community Fund for 2017/18. To manage the requests for donations by community groups, organisations and people based in the Kempsey Shire more fairly Council has continued with a streamlined process where applications are invited on an annual basis.

Who can apply?

This small community grants program is aimed at community projects that produce a positive outcome for the Macleay Valley. If you are a group, organisation or individual based in or providing services to the residents of Kempsey Shire that will be delivered over the next 12 months, you may be eligible to receive funds towards projects. which will enhance the well-being of the Macleay Valley Community through the Mayoral Community Fund.

These small community grants have been made available through savings from the Elected Officials’ Expense budget and will be allocated at the discretion of Council, based on the merits of each project.

A handful of organisations are exempt from submitting an application, and these include long-standing community events Council has supported over many years, such as end-of-year awards for local schools and TAFE, Country Education Foundation Australia and the Carols by Candlelight event held each Christmas
