1. At 10.15 am The presentation to Council’s Nathan Hegerty from Sustainable Development Services and the Strategic Planning Group who worked on Council’s Ecologically Sustainable Development (ESD) Strategy which has won an award at the nationally recognised Sustainability Leadership Awards Dinner hosted by Environs Australia (a Local Government Environment Network) in Melbourne on 11th September 2007.
   
   
2. At 10.20 am The Gold Management Excellence Award for Rural Councils (Workforce Planning) has been awarded to Kempsey Shire Council Human Resources Department at the recent LGMA Excellence Awards 2007 for its human resources strategy.
   
3. At 10.25 am Certificates for NAIDOC Week will be presented to participants.

In accordance with the Local Government Act 1993 and the Local Government (General) Regulation 2005, in the opinion of the General Manager, the following business is of a kind as referred to in section 10A(2) of the Act, and should be dealt with in a part of the meeting closed to the media and public.

Set out below is section 10A(2) of the Local Government Act 1993 in relation to matters which can be dealt with in the closed part of a meeting.

The matters and information are the following:
(b) the personal hardship of any resident or ratepayer

On balance, the public interest in preserving the confidentiality of the ratepayers concerned outweigh the public interest in openness and transparency of council decision making by discussing the matter in an open meeting.
