Review

Stylised stand of trees

Council’s current Rural Residential Land Release Strategy, for managing the supply of rural residential land, is over 20 years old and in need of updating. As part of the review, Council sought the input of stakeholders and the Shire’s communities, to take on board peoples’ ideas and enable a constructive contribution to be made to rural residential development, as a part of Kempsey Shire’s future.

Public workshop

Kempsey Shire Council commissioned Insite Planning Services in 2011 to assist Council to review the current Rural Residential Land Release Strategy. The workshop was held in Council’s Chambers on 18th April, 2012. It was attended by a combination of residents and property owners, property and planning professionals and local environmental groups. Feedback was sought on what factors may influence rural residential development within Kempsey Shire into the future.

The notes from the public workshop as well as other documents related are available for download.

As the project progresses further relevant documents will be made available.  If you would like further information about the project please contact Georgia Rayner, in Council’s Sustainable Environment Department.
