The Macleay Development & Promotions Committee In 2002 through initiatives of the Kempsey Shire Council and with the support of State and Federal government agencies, the Macleay Development and Promotion Committee was formed. This Committee comprises of the Mayor, two Councillors, the General Manager of Kempsey Shire Council, and business leaders from the Kempsey Shire area. The role of the committee is to identify strategies that promote economic development for existing and new business ventures.
