NSW Mayors Agreement on Climate change
Kempsey Shire Council has endorsed and signed the NSW Mayors Agreement on Climate Change.
The NSW Mayor's Agreement on Climate Change was established by The Local Government and Shires Associations of NSW following a motion by Waverley Council, passed unanimously at last year's Local Government Association Conference.
By signing the agreement Council has agreed undertake an emissions inventory of corporate and community operations, set and emission reduction goal that "meets or beats" greenhouse reduction targets assigned to Australia by the Kyoto Protocol.
