State of the Environment Report

All NSW Council are required to produce a State of Environment Report (SoE) for their Local Government Area. A comprehensive report is required to be produced in the year following a Local Government Election, with supplementary reports produced in the intervening years.

Aim

Generally, the aim of this State of Environment Reporting is to provide an update on the area’s progress towards sustainability and the trends in environmental indicators of the core environmental sectors; the land, water, atmosphere (encompassing noise), biodiversity, human settlements (encompassing waste) and aboriginal and non-aboriginal heritage. The Report also provides a “snapshot” of the present day environmental conditions of the area with that of previous years and identifies any new environmental pressures since the previous report.
