In November 2006, public workshops and focus groups were held so that the community could have input into the future strategic direction of Kempsey Shire Council. This lead to the development of the Community Strategic Plan titled “Kempsey Shire – Our 20 Year Vision” which was adopted by Council. The Community Strategic Plan incorporates five corporate goals. General Manager, David Rawlings has developed the new staff structure to ensure that the senior management is focused on each of these goals. David is responsible for the effective management of the organisation, for the carrying out of Council’s policies and strategic objectives and for ensuring Council is provided with accurate and clear information in a timely manner to promote effective decision making.
