Boronia Gardens Day Centre
Boronia Gardens Day Centre Program is funded by the Department of Ageing Disability and Home Care. Boronia Garden’s Day Centre offers structured activities and includes morning tea and lunch which are delivered in a friendly and supportive environment each Wednesday.
The centre is located at 12 Lawson Street, South West Rocks.
The centre also provides a day outing each Friday that includes a bus trip, lunch and an activity visiting Kempsey and the Macleay district as well as surrounding areas.
The aim of Boronia Gardens Day Centre Program is to provide, facilitate and coordinate a variety of leisure programs that promote the physical, psychological, social, spiritual, emotional and creative well being of the clients in a safe, relaxed and friendly environment.
By being involved in the Boronia Gardens Day Centre Program, the clients through their choice, aim to be:-
- Involved in mentally and intellectually stimulating activity.
- To socially interact with other clients ( sharing a meal is a
wonderful way to interact & celebrate)
- Become as independent as possible in a social situation.
- Keep up to date with current affairs through the daily and local papers and magazines that are supplied.
- Use and retain existing skills, knowledge and interest - by being involved in the Day Centre Programs.
- To participate in some kind of physical activity eg walking or seated exercises or a structured session with a qualified trainer.
- To learn and develop new skills, knowledge, friends or interests by being involved in a Day Program.
Clients can be referred by other aged, disability or community care organisations. Carers, family members or person requiring the service can make a referral.
- Clients are assessed by the Administrator of the program.
- Transport is provided to and from the activities.
- Costs involved are $10.00 for Wed and $15.00 for Fridays.
