Macleay Neighbour Aid
This project is funded by the Home and Community Care Program. The aim of the program is to assist people in the HACC target group to remain as independent as possible living in their own home.
Neighbour Aid clients are assessed on individual need and their ability to attend to the activities of daily living, and are prioritised for access to the service on the basis of relative need and available resources.
Neighbour Aid aims to complement other HACC services and assistance offered may include:-
• Advice and referral to other services
• Companionship
• Meal Preparation
• Shopping
• Carer respite
• Domestic Assistance
The assistance is provided by trained volunteers, paid field workers and contractors.
A client contribution towards the cost of service provided is discussed and determined at the time of assessment. A client will not be refused service because of inability to pay.
