Visit council at the 2018 Kempsey Show

Community life - 4 April 2018

While attending the 137th annual Kempsey Show this year, residents will have the opportunity to find out more about the services Kempsey Shire Council provides to the community.

Council staff from across customer services, libraries, tourism, waste, weeds and community relations will be on hand to answer questions and provide information at a stall in the Exhibition Hall on Tuesday 10 April between 10am and 6pm and Wednesday 11 April between 10am and 4pm.

Residents will be able to learn more about council’s online engagement website Your Say Macleay and register, council’s Weed Control Program, library services, general waste information, the Macleay Valley Food Bowl and Macleay Valley Coast.

As part of the stall, there will also be a children’s corner with a colouring in competition and prizes up for grabs as well as a free Storytime session.

Council’s General Manager, Craig Milburn, said the information stall is a great opportunity for the community to engage directly with council staff.

“Residents will also have the chance to learn more about Council’s draft 2018-2019 Operating Plan,” Mr Milburn said.

“The Operating Plan is the summary of all the actions, programs and services that council will deliver in the financial year.

“A big focus of the plan is continuing to improve and invest in our roads, bridges and recreational infrastructure as well as the water and sewer services.

“The draft is currently on public exhibition for a period of 28 days. I encourage residents attending the show to come and talk to staff about the document and provide feedback either on the day or by going online to the Your Say Macleay website.”
