Council launches “MacleayLink” community information hub

Community life - 13 November 2018

Community groups now have a new way of connecting and sharing and accessing relevant community-based information with the launch of Kempsey Shire Council’s information hub, “MacleayLink”.

The online communication tool will allow local community-based organisations - including non-Government services, arts and cultural groups, inter-agencies and networks, Chambers of Commerce, schools, business, sporting groups, Council, Library and Government-funded services - to freely share and access information.

Council’s Coordinator Communications and Community, Maya Spannari, said MacleayLink had already enabled several individuals and groups to share and access information online, reducing the reliance on emails.

“Council receives large amounts of information that is relevant to the community through State and Federal Government and local community-based services and it’s fantastic to have a central hub to house this,” Mrs Spannari said.

“The intent of MacleayLink is to improve community access to this information, and to help to keep the community connected on locally relevant information such as grants and funding opportunities, scholarships and awards, competitions, workshops, training opportunities, partnerships opportunities, community services and more.

“MacleayLink brings community information into one easy, free to use space that is readily available. We encourage community organisations to share their information on the site through an online submission form - the more that is shared, the better.”

Community groups, services and organisations can view the site at  and submit information via the Submission tab. You can also register to receive weekly bulletins on what is new to MacleayLink.

Council encourages community groups to tag their information to allow it to be categorised and searched for successfully and include an image to make the post more prominent.

All new submissions will be actioned within 2-5 business days and moderated for appropriate content.
