The major responsibilities of Council's Ranger's include:-

1 Undertaking activities related to:-

  • Straying animals, including companion animals
  • Free parking areas
  • Vehicles on beaches
  • Fencing around private swimming pools
  • Placement of advertising signs
  • Roadside obstructions and issues under the Roads Act
  • Council's Parks, Reserves and Beaches
  • Noise from animals and other activities
  • Inspections related to Council's Tree Preservation Order

2 Issuing Infringement Notices regarding:-

  • Off street parking offences and free parking areas
  • Vehicles on beaches
  • Dogs and cats
     
  Impounding  
  Where a dog is impounded, it shall not be released to the owner or agent until all fees owing to the Council are paid. Such fees are the authorised impounding fees, sustenance fees, and registration fees if appropriate.
     
  Pound hours  
  Dogs which are impounded may be released between the hours of 8.30 am and 10.00 am Monday to Friday. A release docket will be provided for presentation at the pound after payment of the required charges at Council's Office before attending the Pound.  Council's Dog Pound is located in Yarrabandinni Rod, Frederickton, past the Frederickton Golf Course and adjacent to the Sewage Treatment Works ( see Brochure )
