Young Achievement Australia thanks Kempsey Shire Council
Young Achievement Australia gave special acknowledgement to Kempsey Shire Council for its involvement with and sponsorship of the Young Achievement Australia program.
Steve Young, Co-ordinator of the Northern NSW Program, commented that the six month program was a significant and memorable event in the lives of the approximately 70 students, who completed it. Special mention was made of one of the Kempsey business students who became a finalist in State Business Person of the Year. The Armidale team "ECO CARRYA" and the team form Coffs "HOWYAGOIN'" were awarded equal winners of the Department of State and Regional Development NSW Regional Business of the Year. The "HOWYAGOIN'" business also won State Innovative Product of the Year and State Special Award for putting in an exceptional effort with only five business members.
Mr Young emphasised that although success was recognised through awards, the actual experience and lessons received were a valuable part of the program and sometimes "failure" can be as helpful in its ability to provide professional development as "success".
