Medical Science Scholarships for 2012
Two medical scholarships will be offered to students who complete their HSC in 2011 and will be commencing studies in 2012 in the field of medical science including: Medicine, Dentistry, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Optometry, Pharmacy, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Audiology, Podiatry, Dietetics and Nursing.
To be eligible for the Scholarships, students must complete Year 12 in 2011 at Kempsey Adventist School, Kempsey High School, Macleay Vocational College, Melville High School, or St Paul’s College Kempsey and also reside in the Macleay Valley. This study must also be undertaken at an Australian University and deferments will not be accepted.

Traineeship Opportunities with Kempsey Shire Council
Applications close 6 December 2010
Advertising has commenced for the recruitment of up to 12 new traineeships within Council’s Infrastructure division. The following traineeships will replace existing vacant positions within Council’s ranks and will reduce the dependence upon labour hire to provide flexibility in Council’s workforce.

Creative Arts at Kempsey TAFE - 16 February to 25 June 2010
Would you like to:-
- Participate in the planning, production and evaluation of creative arts projects.
- Use traditional and adaptive technologies to produce visual and performing art works.
- Communicate using visual and or musical techniques.
- Develop team skills while working with people in a group, in a multicultural context and using a variety of creative tools.

Local Sporting Champions: Funding for junior athletes to pursue their sporting dreams
Junior sportsmen and women find it difficult to meet the ongoing and significant costs associated with participation at sporting competitions, particularly sportsmen and women from regional areas. The Local Sporting Champions program is an Australian Government initiative designed to provide financial assistance for junior sportsmen and women towards the cost of travel, accommodation, uniforms or equipment when competing at an official national sporting organisation (NSO) endorsed state or national sporting competition.
Academy of Surfing Instructors (ASI) - Surfing Instructor Courses
Nationally recognised training is available through the Academy of Surfing Instructors to gain the following qualifications - Surfing Instructor (Level 1), Surfing Coach (Level 2), Elite Surfing Coach (Level 3) and Master Surfing Coach (Level 4).
