Artist's concept drawing - BMX pump track

New BMX pump track for West Kempsey

Bike enthusiasts are invited to have their say on the design for a new BMX asphalt pump track on the corner of Sea and Leith Streets, West Kempsey.

A pump track is a type of off-road terrain for cycle sports such as bikes, scooters, rollerblades and skateboards and consists of a circuit of banked turns and humps.

Council has engaged with young people, residents, services and NSW Police regarding the development and is interested in hearing from the rest of the community about the draft design.

The community will have the opportunity to ask questions about the development at a Council information stall at the Salvation Army Building on Leith Street, West Kempsey on Tuesday 21 July from 3pm-5pm.

To view the draft designs and read the project background visit https://yoursay.macleay.nsw.gov.au/bmx-pump-track

Feedback will inform the final designs that will be reported to the August Council meeting for adoption. Submissions can be made until Monday 27 July.

Following the June 2020 Council meeting it was resolved that the preferred design option be placed on public exhibition for community feedback.
