All flood structures to close on Saturday afternoon

Due to rainfall received over the past days and forecasted throughout the next week, all flood structures throughout the Kempsey Shire will be closed on Saturday 26 March 2022.

Kempsey Shire Council will close the flood gates and flood relief structures as a precaution on Saturday afternoon as large amounts of rain have fallen throughout recent days and further rainfall is expected over the coming days.

This will include:

  • Belmore River cross over and relief gates.
  • Kinchela Creek cross over and relief gates.
  • Christmas Creek flood gates.
  • Euroka Creek flood gates.

Landholders are encouraged to monitor the situation and act accordingly.
