Vandalism at Dock Flat

Dock Flat slide

There has been an act of vandalism at the Dock Flat Playground in East Kempsey - the double slide has been damaged, with the right-hand side slide sustaining sharp edges at the bottom that could pose a safety risk to users.

We understand how much this playground means to the local community, particularly to families and children who enjoy the space. Council has taken immediate action by placing an order for a replacement slide. However, as it must be manufactured, we expect delivery to take approximately 5–6 weeks.

In the meantime, we urge the community to avoid using the damaged slide for safety reasons. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to restore this much-loved facility.

While we wait for the replacement slide to arrive, we encourage families to make use of the many other playgrounds across the Kempsey Shire. These spaces remain open and ready for play.

Council is committed to maintaining safe and enjoyable recreational areas for everyone. If you witness any vandalism in our public spaces, please report it to Council to help us protect these valued community assets.

Thank you for your support as we work to repair the Dock Flat Playground.
