On Tuesday 27 September, local young people came together for a day of fitness and fun at Verge and Eden Street fields for Active Fest on Dunghutti Country.
Participants took part in a series of sporting workshops including rugby league, rugby union, AFL, netball and basketball with laser tag and music in between. A free sausage sizzle BBQ cooked by the Macleay Valley Mustangs was provided on the day.
The workshops were delivered by AFL North Coast and Macleay Valley Eagles AFL Club , 3x3 Hustle Basketball, Macleay Netball Association, the NRL with support from Tommaya Kelly-Sines and Rugby Union clinics.
This event was funded by the Office of Sport and delivered by Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation with support from Council, Pathfinders , Burrun Dalai Aboriginal Corporation, Ready Mob, YP Space, Mid North Coast Local Health District and Services NSW.
