Works on remediating six landslips along Armidale Road has nearly finished.

Kempsey Shire Council is approaching the pointy end of its Armidale Road landslip remediation project with works remaining on just one site.

All that is left is installing guardrails and pavements at a site 1km west of the Devils Nook landslip, which is scheduled to finish on Friday 5 May, weather permitting.

Each site required solutions to prevent and control rocks and soil falling to the roadway and causing a hazard for motorists.

Council and specialist consultants used civil and geotechnical engineering to design construction methods, including fixing mesh with rock bolts to cover the rock face.

Residents and users of Armidale Road can now look forward to the return of a safe and comfortable driving experience.

Council has received Transport for NSW funding for the works under the NSW Government's disaster relief arrangements to remediate landslips on Armidale Road near Bellbrook in the Macleay Valley hinterland.
