When we think of the Macleay Valley, many of us are drawn to its stunning coastline and lush hinterland. It’s only human to want to protect it for years to come.
Kempsey Shire Council is committed to improving local environmental outcomes, which is why we are launching a new environmental sustainability enewsletter ‘Our Backyard’ in late-June.
Our Backyard is all about Council working collaboratively with residents to get insights and tips to live more sustainably in the Kempsey Shire.
To celebrate, those who subscribe to Our Backyard from the start have the chance to score themselves an eco-friendly cleaning pack valued at nearly $200.
Jess Marsh, Sustainability Project Officer at Council said this newsletter will be different, and so will the prize pack.
“To celebrate launching Our Backyard, we’re asking people to subscribe for their chance to win a Koala Eco household cleaning pack,” said Ms Marsh.
“This pack is powered by essential oils, is biodegradable and it is septic safe, so you can feel at ease knowing that you aren’t putting hidden nasties in your home and local environment.”
“And our newsletter won’t just be generic stories, but case studies and genuinely helpful ideas relevant to our community. Apart from the usual environmental initiatives, we are really looking to hear how residents all over the shire minimise their impact on the environment. If you have some unique ways to save power and water, reduce waste and show love to our local area, we’d love to share this with others.”
Our Backyard will feature tips on turning leftovers into mouthwatering meals, ideas for reducing food waste and seasonal recipes, book and movie reviews, local activities and current research on climate, sustainability and renewables.
