Concerns were eased on Thursday night as the highest tide of the year combined with high seas didn’t impact low-lying coastal areas of Crescent Head and Hat Head.
Low-lying areas of Killick Creek, Crescent Head and Korogoro Creek, Hat Head were told to brace for potential flooding on Thursday 14 July as the highest tide of the year combined with high seas hit the coast.
While the water levels were high in the creeks, the south-easterly swell direction reduced the threat of high seas pushing more water into these channels.
Conditions were favourable considering the weather variables at play and no damage was noted.
