Sections of roads in desperate need of rehabilitation on Phillip Drive, Baker Drive and Grassy Head Road are booked in for repair throughout November and December.
Kempsey Shire Council will work with contractors to repair sections of the key routes before the busy festive season. This comes after joining Local Government NSW and NSW Country Mayors Association in declaring a state-wide road emergency.
Weather permitting, road rehabilitation works will start on 28 November on the following sites:
These locations will receive heavy patching repairs. This method is used when the road is badly damaged and involves the removal and replacement of the deformed road. You can learn more about heavy patching at How do road repairs work?
If the weather is in the festive spirit, the works are expected to finish up mid-December.
