Council conducting phone survey
Published on 20 February 2023
If you receive an unsolicited phone call asking you about Council between Monday 27 February and Friday 3 March, you may have been chosen to have your say on how we're performing.
Kempsey Shire Council is committed to understanding the community's needs and opinions, which is why the Kempsey Community Research project is being conducted in February and March 2023.
The project aims to measure the community's overall satisfaction with Council and to understand the importance that the community places on key service areas.
The research will ask the community to provide feedback on Council communications and priority service areas for Council to consider as part of operational planning.
The responses will be confidential, and a consolidated report will be prepared on completion of the project, with a summary published to the community. A similar survey was carried out in 2020, carried out in February 2021, with the results indicating79% of residents were at least somewhat satisfied with Council, a result we hope to improve on this year.
Who is doing this?
Council has contracted Micromex, a specialist market research company, to conduct the research on our behalf. They bring expertise, objectivity and data on how many other Councils have performed in similar surveys.
The phone survey will cover a representative sample of the Kempsey Local Government Area, while the online survey allows members of the community to self-select to be part of the research.
Community engagement is a top priority for us, and the feedback from the research will help inform Council's operational plans and communications. So, make sure you have your say and participate in the Kempsey Community Research project.
Phone survey
The phone survey will be conducted through unsolicited phone calls made between Monday 27 February to Friday 3 March 2023.
If you ever believe you may have received a fraudulent phone call from someone pretending to represent Council, please always alert Council's Customer Service team on 6566 3200.
Online survey
An online survey will be available on Your Say Macleay from Monday 6 March to Sunday 19 March 2023.
Both surveys will cover the same topics, so members of the community who are not contacted by phone will have an opportunity to have their say.
