The rain and flood water have affected some private onsite sewerage systems for residents of Stuarts Point.
To address public health and safety, Council have worked with the Stuarts Point Hall Committee to provide alternative access to amenities for people affected.
The Stuarts Point Hall will be open between 3 – 8pm today and 7:00am – 8:00pm Thursday for community use. This arrangement will continue beyond Thursday as required. The Hall Committee can also arrange access to showers within the sports grounds.
Amenities and showers are available for community use at the Holiday Park, access is via the Park Office.
Urgent electrical and sewer repairs are underway at the foreshore park amenities and we hope to have them reopened later today.
Roads crews are also working to address water being washed off roads into properties.
Council appreciates the patience and community assistance in working on solutions for the variety of issues impacting residents right across the Shire at present.
