How do I get my flood waste collected?
Flood waste collections finished on 30 June 2025.
Is there a cut-off date for flood waste collection?
All flood waste should be put out for collection and collection request form submitted before 12-noon Thursday 26 June.
With disposal rates having slowed significantly, our final kerbside collection of flood waste will be Monday 30 June.
Flood waste can then be dropped off for free at the Waste Management Centre on Crescent Head Road. Please note, waster transfer stations at South West Rocks, Stuarts Point and Bellbrook cannot accept flood waste.
Will flood waste be collected from rural properties?
Yes, flood waste collection will took place throughout the shire where access allows.
How should I sort my flood waste?
Wear protective clothing when handling flood-damaged items.
Before moving anything, please take photos of the waste and the inside of your home for insurance and future assistance claims
Can I take my flood waste to the Waste Management Centre?

If I take my flood waste to the Waste Management Centre, will I have to pay?
You will not be charged to dispose of flood-affected waste.
When will missed regular yellow, red, and green bins be collected?
Cleanaway will collect missed bins as soon as conditions allow. Please leave your bins out for collection. Once your bins have been collected, regular waste collection schedules will resume.
Is it safe to go through other people’s flood affected waste?
Flood waste may contain sewage and harmful contaminants and can pose a serious risk to health and safety. For your wellbeing and out of respect for others, we ask you not to go through or take flood-affected waste.
Can silage wrap be included in the flood waste collection?
Yes. We understand that many farmers are dealing with plastic wrap from silage bales impacted by floodwater. This type of plastic waste can be included in the kerbside collection for flood-affected areas.
