Ready for what's next: Continuity planning | Small Business Month

Disasters can strike when we least expect them, from floods and fires to supply chain disruptions and power outages. The difference between bouncing back quickly or being left vulnerable often comes down to one thing: preparation.

As part of Small Business Month, Kempsey Shire Council is offering a series of free workshops across five locations in the Macleay Valley to help local businesses prepare for the unexpected.

Facilitated by Julie Humphris, this practical 2-hour workshop is designed specifically for small business owners. Together, we’ll step through the essentials of disaster planning and business continuity, ensuring you don’t just learn what to do but actually start building your plan during the session.

You will be working on your own plan, brainstorming strategies with others and walking away with a clear framework tailored to your business. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have completed significant parts of your continuity plan and know exactly how to fill in the gaps.

Each workshop covers the same essential topics, choose the session that best fits your schedule:

• Tuesday 14 October | 10am–12pm | South West Rocks Country Club Board Room 
  Cancelled due to low registrations. We invite SWR businesses to attend the Gladstone session instead.
• Thursday 16 October | 5.30pm–7.30pm | The Stables @ The Heritage Hotel of Gladstone
• Monday 20 October | 10am–12pm | The Bellbrook Hotel
