Summary

Council has rehabilitated Belmore River Right Bank Road between Loftus Road and South West Rocks Road.

Belmore River (Right Bank) Road is a key route between South West Rocks and Crescent Head and is heavily used by local residents, businesses and tourists.

Safety was a key focus of the works, which included pavement rehabilitation, shoulder widening, seal extensions and new guideposts and linemarking.

The road runs through a very fertile section of the lower Macleay Valley which supports a range of agricultural activities, including beef cattle and dairy farming. The improvements to the road support these activities and their continued growth.

Timeframe

Works began in July 2022 and finished in December 2022.

Funding

The total cost of the project is $1.8 million. Council has been granted $1,200,060 under the NSW Government's Fixing Local Roads Program and will itself contribute the remaining $599,940.
