Summary
Kempsey Shire Council is making a number of road safety improvements along River Street, West Kempsey. These will include:
- pedestrian refuge crossings
- edge lines for parking lanes
- pedestrian warning signs.

Timeframe
Work is expected to begin in late 2022 and finish in 2023.
Funding
The NSW Government is funding the improvements under its Safer Roads Program 2021-22. Council applied for this funding in response to local residents’ concerns about speeding, through traffic and limited pedestrian crossing facilities.
