Summary

Council has worked with West Kempsey Pump Track committee and the community to build a pump track at Mountainview Reserve, off Polwood Street in West Kempsey. 

A pump track is a 'rollercoaster' path which riders of bicycles, skateboards, scooters and roller-skates can complete without needing to pedal or push. 

The facility has been designed to provide a recreational riding area and safe community space for individuals and families to enjoy.

Future events

The committee is planning for ongoing bike safety education and a maintenance and recycling program to ensure bikes are safe to ride and improve general road safety in the area. 

A number of groups and businesses are also planning to hold school holiday programs and other programs or events involving the pump track. These will be advertised on on Hey Hey Macleay.
