Willawarrin Recreation Ground Draft Master Plan

Summary
The Willawarrin Recreation Ground Master Plan proposes upgrades across key areas including sports fields, equestrian and camping facilities, community spaces and access paths.
Improvements include better drainage, lighting, seating, storage, access and amenities to support community use and events.
A new multi-purpose court will replace the tennis courts. The plan was shaped through consultation with local users and residents.
Master Plans are a key tool for securing grant funding and are used to efficiently provide the right facilities for our communities.
Funding
Development of the master plan was funded by Council.
Timeline
February 2024
Initial meetings were held with user groups to discuss potential improvements to the sporting site.
Drafting of the plan commenced in consultation with these groups.
September – October 2024
The draft plans were placed on public exhibition via Your Say Macleay to invite broader community feedback.
Community submissions were reviewed and, where appropriate, incorporated into the final plans.
December 2024
The final plan was presented to Council and formally adopted at the December Council Meeting.
Now
Delivery of the items outlined in the plan is not currently funded. Completion of these works will depend on future funding opportunities secured by Council or community groups.
