Grassy Head playground replacement and amenities upgrade

Summary

A new playground with accessible elements and surrounding furnishings including a new dual electric barbecue and table is being proposed for Grassy Head.

Timeframe

The project began mid-2024 and was completed in December 2025.

Funding

The project is in Council's Delivery Program and has received $200,000 in grant funding.

Background

The existing swing set at Grassy Head had reached the end of its usable life.

During site inspections, it became clear that the existing site had some shortcomings, including exposed roots and heavily sloped ground.

For these reasons, a new site was proposed, adjacent to the existing site.

In addition to the new playground, an electric BBQ was also installed.

Grassy Head amenities upgrade

Summary

The Grassy Head amenities block was upgraded to improve accessibility and enhance community facilities. The upgrade project was awarded to Programmed Property Services and was completed in May 2025.

The works included the installation of a new accessible bathroom, accessible pathways to and from the amenities, as well as tiling and plumbing fit-outs, painting and carpentry works.
