Kempsey Shire Council constructed new BMX pump and learn-to-ride Tracks in South Kempsey, similar in style to the existing pump track in West Kempsey.

The tracks were built inside the turning loop in the park, near the Dunghutti-Ngaku Aboriginal Art Gallery and the Kempsey Museum.

Designed to cater to a range of skill levels, the tracks offer a safe space for young people to develop road safety skills. The works were fully grant-funded and have created a valuable recreational area for the local community.

Background

The tracks were initially planned as part of the broader Macleay Valley Recreation Adventure Park project. However, in December 2023, Council resolved to deliver the facilities in South Kempsey following the termination of the Adventure Park project.

Construction

Council engaged East Coast Mountain Trails to deliver the project.

Planning

The tracks form part of the South Kempsey Sporting Site Plan, which is currently under development.
