Summary

The intersection between Second Lane and Macleay Valley Way is currently being upgraded under the NSW Government's Safer Roads Program.

Proposed features include medians, audio tactile line marking, acceleration and turn lanes, improved super elevation, flexible barriers, and upgrade to existing pavement with asphalt.

The purpose of the works is to improve road safety and reduce road trauma by installing traffic guidance and turn facilities to reduce speed related accidents.

Project cost is estimated to be $1,800,000

Project commenced 22 April 2024 and will be completed late July 2024`

  1. Compound installation
  2. Construction of twin 750 diameter concrete pipes both sides intersection
  3. Construction pit and two twin headwalls
  4. Construction new base layer road base Second Lane
  5. Placement of asphalt as sub base layer pavement
  6. Construction concrete islands
  7. Placement of surface layer of asphalt
  8. Complete shoulder and longitudinal drainage
  9. Signage and linemarking
  10. Placement guardrail
